Perfectly placed in what is said to be the heart of downtown Bangkok, is the vibrant Pratunam neighbourhood in Petchburi. Here you’ll find a wonderful 5-star hotel I recently had the pleasure of staying at, the Amari Watergate Bangkok.

Firstly, the location is fantastic, just a short stroll from a plethora of shopping bazaars and malls, essential for those who love to shop on holidays, like I do.

I really enjoyed the ambience of this lovely hotel, my room was modern and yet classic in style, with all the necessary amenities and touches to make it very relaxing and comfortable.

There is an outdoor garden terrace, which is literally a breath of fresh air to experience in such a busy city. It’s so great to see hotels incorporate greenery into their design and I feel like it’s a huge contributor to how relaxing a place feels, to include nature.

If you love to luxuriate with perhaps a delicious cocktail or beverage and just watch the world go by, then do what I did and spend some downtime chilling out in the Lobby Lounge.

One thing I didn’t get a chance to do due to timing, but will no doubt take advantage of during my next visit, is to enjoy a treatment of two at the revitalizing Breeze Spa. Described as an urban paradise, I had a sneak peek in and it no doubt looks like one. I’ll be signing up immediately for a tension releasing massage, amongst other pampering treatments in their beautiful, peaceful space. Traveling can be exhausting at times, so I’ve found that the perfect way to end a trip is to have some sort of massage or spa session to wind down before returning home.

Eating good food is also a big factor for me when traveling; so I’m always on the lookout for the best places to eat, ideally not too far from my accommodation. I was delighted to have found out that I would be staying somewhere which proudly features what is said to be the best international buffet in Bangkok, called the #AmayaFoodGallery.

I was joined by Laura Rand, the Social Media Manager/ Executive Office of the hotel, who kindly filled me in on all thing’s food and fun about the hotel, and what do do for fun in the area. You can enjoy the fresh crab station, lobster and many more premium Asian and also Mediterranean-style dishes from Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Lebanon and Turkey. There is no doubt plenty of options for even the most discerning palate, or for the fussy eaters. The quality of the produce is superb and the variety will make your mouth water.

From the incredible food, to the great location and service, and everything in between, I can’t recommend the Amari Watergate Hotel highly enough. It will stimulate your senses and leave you wanting to go back for more. Thank you to the lovely team there for inviting me to enjoy your beautiful hotel.
