I recently had the pleasure of attending the launch party for Jimmy Choo’s latest men’s fragrance ‘Urban Hero’, with Australian music artist and performer Timomatic.

I also had the pleasure of styling Tim (a.k.a Timomatic) for this special occasion, choosing a cool twist on a classic and timeless black suit, featuring dark animal stripes, paired with a white shirt, all by Emporio Armani. I finished off the look with a peacock feather lapel pin.

I wore a vivid mustard suit, featuring rich paisley lining and my name stitched beneath the collar for a personalised touch. Worn over a crisp white shirt, I had my suit specially custom made for me by Mitchell Ogilvie Tailoring. I chose every last detail, down to the buttons, and thoroughly enjoyed the design and creation process. On that note, it was great to see such a well dressed crowd, and it was also lovely to meet Frederic Chapel, Jimmy Choo’s Regional Manager for Interparfums, who gave a lovely speech on the night; which made the well renowned brand even more endearing to attendees who are already big fans of the brand’s beautiful accessories and fragrances no doubt.

ENTERTAINMENT

Guests got to enjoy a very cool and exclusive surprise performance by Fatman Scoop, who, true to form, doused the crowd in high energy fun, lifting the ambience to the urban-cool level in which the fragrance is representing. I actually got to meet him also and it was really nice to see how humble and down to earth he is in real life.

Nothing was spared to create the ultimate urban oasis for the occasion, which included, wait for it, a tattoo station, a tagging station and a piercing station, just to name a few of many other fun things to be done over the course of the evening.

VENUE

The evening was held at the ultra stylish Beta Bar on Sydney’s Castlereagh Street. A wonderfully hidden gem, situated above award winning Alpha restaurant. The space has an underground, rustic vibe, with bold archways and brickwork, yet is designed and decorated with rich tones of emerald and gold, in a way that is spectacularly elegant and opulent.

FOOD & DRINKS

The food and drinks were of course delicious, a luxury twist on street food, such as mini burgers and a fancy take on hot chips. By the way, I’d be happy for all of my meals to be encased in Jimmy Choo paper, as seen on the night.

MY THOUGHTS

I genuinely had a really fun night and I was very impressed by the level of detail and thought that got put into the launch by organisers Cosmax Prestige Brands. The entertainment stations, the music, the people, the vibe was awesome. Guests were gifted a goodie bag featuring the new fragrance, which was a delight as it’s super beautiful and features unusual exotic notes that I can’t put my finger on, but I prefer to wear it for a while and take a guess. It’s unlike any of my other scents and I’ve already received compliments on it, so I’m looking forward to wearing it over the coming months and festive season.
