I was recently invited to experience Citadines Connect Sydney. It’s a fantastic, colourful stay for anyone needing accommodation within minutes of Sydney airport.

Previously named the Felix Hotel, the rebranded Citadines Connect was unveiled only in recent months by serviced residence company, The Ascott, to be the new short stay focused business hotel brand, debuting not only in Sydney, but also in New York. The brand is a front runner as a tech-enabled hotel, inspired by and designed to cater to the needs of highly mobile business travellers who appreciate convenience and user friendly services.

The hotel features 150 guest rooms accessed via a Penthouse reception and is only a 15 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) to the domestic terminal.

As I arrived at the hotel, it was lovely to know that the staff were anticipating me, and even knew my name. All of the staff from front of house to the kitchen were warm and friendly, and it was very clear that the whole team were on the same page about the needs of myself and my crew for the duration of our stay; which is really refreshing as there is often confusion in hotels when the team doesn’t communicate with each other about the days’ events to come. I was given a tour of the hotel, including their Athletic Club (gym), then put up in their ‘First Class Room’ which was fantastic. It features a 55-inch swivel tv equipped with Netflix, to be watched from any space in the room, and the bathroom has really stylish interior features, including a rainfall shower and bright, modern finishes. My crew were kindly put up in the ‘Business Class Room’, which is smaller but decorated beautifully, with pops of colour and again, a really cool bathroom design.

You won’t get dreary corporate décor here, instead you’ll be bombarded with artistic prints, pops of colours and quirky interior design features such as neon pink lights and rose gold bathroom fixtures. Not to mention there’s an outdoor fireplace which doubles as a rooftop cinema and with a great guest bar called the ‘Penthouse Skybar’ right beside it. There is a The views are really cool as you can see a birds eye view of planes rolling around the runway, direct from the Penthouse level and even from the rooms, which is especially great for the kids.

For those traveling with pets, they can provide pet-friendly courtyard rooms, and if you appreciate a sleep in, their late 12pm checkout will no doubt lure you in. The crew and I were provided with lovely breakfast options, and I also took advantage of their secure hotel parking and fast complimentary internet. A big thank you to the team for inviting me to stay, for the generous additions you provided to us during, and for also accommodating my team, with nothing but helpful smiles and efficient service. I look forward to returning.
