I recently visited Canberra and had the pleasure of staying at the Deco Hotel. I have lived in Sydney most of my life and this was in fact my first visit to Canberra. The hotel is stylish and contemporary in design, created to suit all tastes, in a confident yet non-pretentious way.
FOOD
Onsite you’ll find restaurant, ‘Two14’. It’s suitable for all occasions and you can indulge in their share plates or alternatively choose from their classic menu which features burgers and other appetizing mains.
They also have fantastic room service from the same restaurant with the upmost ease, using their in room iPads whilst chilling in bed. I’m glad to say I thoroughly enjoyed this option, having a lazy meal in, in my bath robe. I have to extend a thank you to the team for providing me with complimentary breakfast so I could experience their delicious food.
HOTEL FACILITEES
Fast internet gets a big tick, always something I’m looking for in a hotel as I’m usually on business and need speedy WiFi to get things done. Some other amenities include a nice gym for the dedicated, lots of parking and an informative guide on things to do whilst in Canberra.
HOTEL EXPERIENCE
Their ethos is, “Let us make you feel at home, we’re expecting you.” As soon I was arrived I was greeted by wonderful staff, and immediately felt at home. My experience was great. I had a lovely room which was spotlessly clean, complimentary car parking, the hotel overall clean and polished in every aspect. There was a really good vibe about the place which was palpable.
STAFF
Alex and the friendly Deco team were amazing to deal with for the duration of my stay. I didn’t need for anything as they looked after me and made me feel like it was a home away from home.
LOCATION
This elegant addition to the local hotel scene is located perfectly amongst everything worth seeing and doing during your stay; being just minutes from the CBD. There is plenty of transportation at your fingertips, as well as places to do some shopping.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
This was my first time visiting Canberra and I would have like to stay longer as it was quite a speedy visit. It seems to me that little Canberra is now a hot topic in the local tourism scene. Now that I’m aware of a fantastic hotel being situation here, offering a stylish stay, there’s no doubt I’ll be returning soon and will report back on the many others things Deco Hotel has to offer.
